Hiring Us

In providing professional architectural services, acla:works is guided by the Trinidad and Tobago Institute of Architects’ Conditions of Engagement. Project success is as important to us as it is to our clients, so we strive to develop good dialogue with clients, as fruitful collaboration between architect and client is the first step towards good architecture.

acla:works has a long track record of providing professional services to both public and private clients.

For private clients, we typically demonstrate the capabilities and experience of our firm, meet to gain an understanding of the project requirements, then prepare a fee proposal specific to the project needs. This proposal will outline the scope of architectural services, schedule, the need for other consultants, information to be provided by the client, and our understanding of and approach to the project and fees.

Public clients usually require a qualification-based selection whereby qualification for a project is the first consideration, and fee is the second. Information is generally submitted in a 2-envelope system [technical and financial] as per the Request for Proposals prepared by the public client. State Enterprises follow various procurement rules that evolve with the market and we strive to be responsive in meeting client and statutory requirements.

On each project we generally assign a Principal, who will be responsible for client communications, quality management, contract and schedule issues. Depending on the scope of the project, a separate Project Architect may also be assigned to develop the design, along with a team of technicians.
