Building Envelopes
The building envelope is the primary sub-system through which prevailing external conditions can be influenced and regulated to meet the comfort requirements of the user inside the building. The building envelope acts as a skin; a transition between inside and outside and can be simple – plastered CMU wall; to complex – intelligent skins with automated louvres and light sensitive glass.
acla:works continues to develop a keen understanding of the appropriateness, functionality and aesthetics of different skin types for the Caribbean context.
