Health Sector Administration Building
Contemporary in its use of glass, yet responsive to the environment with its use of sun-shading devices, this building provides a progressive design for the Ministry of Health. The sweeping form gestures towards the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain’s prominent central park. The curve is analysed in relation to the sun. The metal panel and glass exterior cladding is easily accessible for maintenance along external catwalks, which also support the sunshading devices. The design is informed by its programmatic requirements and context as it relates to site geometry, scale and landscape.
