Parkinson House
This house was originally designed for photographer, Norman Parkinson, and his wife, Wendy. Located on steeply sloping land overlooking the picturesque coast of Tobago, it captures the breathtaking views of the coast below. The expansive marble floored living room—with coloured glass sliding doors exposing the view of the coast and beyond—has been highly photographed. Full height louvered sunscreens and ornate breeze blocks capture tropical breezes and protect against harsh sun. The slightly oriental look of the house, noticeable particularly in the upward sweep of the large roof eaves, was inspired by the Eastern landscape in this part of Tobago.
