Private Residence Santa Cruz

After buying this house incomplete, the owners realised they wanted to make a few adjustments and called on acla:works to develop a modern design. Our scope included a new 4-sided “infinity-edge” pool, which required a laser level and extreme craftsmanship. A feature shower and built-in seating [banquettes] were added around the tiled deck of the pool area. Necessary accents of colour are provided by the outdoor furniture, which happens to be part of a collection from the owners’ company, Being Sustainable, whose office/showroom is also located at this house. The interior of the house required a new staircase for the double-storey volume. Overall, the design intent was to provide a dramatic yet minimalist composition of forms to be set against the verdant backdrop of bamboo and the existing house.
